New Account Information

    1. Open Settings

    1. Tap email + accounts

    1. Choose add an account

    1. Choose advanced setup

 

    1. Enter your Email address and Password

 

    1. Tap Next.

 

    1. Choose Internet email

    1. Enter an Account Name, this is how the account will be identified later.

Incoming Mail Server

    1. Enter Your name, as you would like it to appear in your emails.

    1. Enter mail.example.com as the Incoming email server

    1. Choose POP3 or IMAP4 as the Account Type.

 
Note: IMAP is the preferred protocol as it will not download and store your emails on your Windows 8 device.

    1. Enter your full email address as the User name

Outgoing Mail Server

    1. Enter mail.example.com as theOutgoing (SMTP) email server

    1. Tap Advanced Settings
    2. Ensure that Outgoing server requires authentication is checked.
